The Stepping Stones® method is performed using a specific sequence of beads, each with a defined purpose in the manifestation ritual. Every bead has a role, and every section serves a purpose:

1. The Vision Stone: The ritual begins with a single distinctive bead – the Vision Stone – which represents your goal or burning desire. Here, you pause and vividly imagine your desire already fulfilled, as if you were holding the vision in your mind and body. With eyes closed and breathing slow, you see it, feel it, and breathe it into your reality. This step harnesses the power of clear intention and imagination.
2. The Faith Stones: Next comes a bead called Faith Stone. These beads remind you to trust the unseen and give thanks in advance for what you are manifesting. On each Faith Stone, you reinforce your belief by saying something like, “I trust the timing of my life,” or “What I need is already on its way,” cultivating genuine faith in your outcome. The Faith Stones are spaced throughout the strand (one set of five at the start, and single ones separating groups of affirmations) to serve as bridges of belief between your visions and affirmations.

3. The Affirmation Stones:Affirmation Stones – typically 20 beads divided into four sets of five, with a Faith Stone between each set. On each affirmation bead, you speak a positive, present-tense statement about yourself or your path, as if it is already true. For example: “I am ready. I am worthy. I attract wonderful opportunities. I build my life with love,” etc. These affirmations are custom to your goals and are phrased in the “I am/I have” form to assert a new reality. The repetition of affirmations in a structured, rhythmic sequence is key to reprogramming your mindset.

The Science Behind Stepping Stones® Method

Stepping Stones® isn’t magic – it works in part because it leverages well-known principles of psychology and neuroscience, especially regarding brainwave states and the subconscious mind. As research shows, the human brain has different modes of operation depending on its brainwave frequency (measured in hertz). Notably, young children spend much of their early years (birth to about age 7) predominantly in theta and alpha brainwave states. Theta waves (around 4–8 Hz) correspond to a dreamy, imaginative, highly suggestible state, and alpha waves (8–12 Hz) a calm, relaxed yet receptive state. In these states, a child’s mind has not yet developed the critical filters that an adult has – whatever a child hears or imagines tends to slip directly into the subconscious as truth, forming core beliefs. This is why early childhood experiences (and messages received) have such a lasting impact; the young brain is literally programmed in those years. By contrast, in adulthood our dominant brainwaves are beta (13–35 Hz), associated with alert, logical thinking – but also skepticism and resistance. The mature mind has a “gatekeeper” – our critical faculty – that analyzes and often rejects new ideas as unrealistic or untrue. This is a useful function for everyday judgment, but it makes deep personal change difficult; positive affirmations or new beliefs simply bounce off our guarded adult psyche unless we can intentionally bypass that gatekeeper.
